Adapting for All
Our staff are trained to assist guests with sensory sensitivities – as owners, we deal with these issues daily as we have a son with Autism and a mum with Dementia. This gives us an elevated insight into sensory disabilities needs and solutions.
We offer a sensory-friendly dining with familiar options and quieter seating areas. We have also invested in our private Study dining room – an Autism friendly room offering low lighting, reduced noise and a large 80 inch screen to help with sensory processing disorders.
Meaningful Empathy
We are committed to providing clear and accessible communication, including visual aids, simplified menus, and assistance with ordering.
Our staff are trained to understand and empathize with the needs of individuals with mental disabilities, creating a comfortable and welcoming environment.
Sensory Adaptations
Sensory Adaptations
We understand that sensory sensitivities can impact the enjoyment of dining. To create a more comfortable environment for individuals with these sensitivities, we will implement various sensory adaptations. These include:
Dimming the lighting in designated areas to reduce visual overstimulation.
Offering a selection of calming background music or the option to have music turned off completely.
Providing noise-canceling headphones upon request for guests who are sensitive to loud noises.
Introducing a Quiet Hour during less busy periods when the restaurant’s noise level is reduced.
We believe everyone should have access to our menu, regardless of their abilities. To this end, we will be introducing a Braille version for our visually impaired guests, enabling them to independently browse our cuisine.

Supporting Families
We recognise the challenges faced by families caring for loved ones with dementia. To provide support and respite, we will be offering dedicated dementia respite sittings. During these sittings, a designated team member will be trained to provide extra support and understanding for individuals with dementia and their families.
Calming Environment
We will create a calmer, more predictable dining experience by reducing noise levels, providing familiar dishes, and maintaining a consistent routine.
Welcoming Families
We will offer a welcoming space for families to take a break, share information and connect with others facing similar challenges.
All the above is driven by the owner, who has a son with Autism and a mum with Dementia and all too well recognises the lack of options he has with his mum.
Hopefully we can do some good.
