“I’ve lived in Knowsley Village all my life, it fills me with pride to put something back into the community I grew up in.”
Tony Cummins
Restaurateur, founder of Antonio’s Bar & Grill, Director of Net Zero Hospitality UK, advocate to create a legacy of change in the hospitality sector.
the Young Entrepreneur
The young Tony Cummins harboured a fiery determination to excel and a passion to master every endeavour he embraced. His interest in the great outdoors steered him to a career as an outdoor pursuits instructor, eventually leading him to the peaks of Mt Blanc and Mt Kilimanjaro.
It was during this time that his leadership journey began, sowing the seeds of his future successes. Amongst his outdoor pursuits, his exploits on open waters did not go unnoticed and he reached the British sailing team.
His thirst for adrenaline didn’t stop with nature – he recognised an opportunity in motorbikes and became an exclusive importer for leading motorcycle brands into the UK. Which in turn lead him to join forces with elite Grand Prix teams, charging through circuits worldwide and becoming a vital contributor to renowned Grand Prix race teams.
Looking for greater accomplishments and wanting to spend more time in the village he loves, Tony diverted his journey from high-speed circuits to the firmer ground of property. His first acquisition saw him take over a humble corner shop – the building that would become Antonio’s Bar & Grill.
the Birth of Antonio’s
The inception of Antonio’s began with the Igloo Dining Experience, an ingenious concept marrying intimacy with exclusivity and captivating diners with its novelty and ambiance. The restaurant, a canvas forĀ culinary artistry, matured into Antonio’s Bar & Grill – the embodiment of exquisite dining. It combined character, tradition, flavour and determination to provide exceptional hospitality to become a multi-award winning industry leader. Most recently, Antonio’s was awarded Liverpool City Region Restaurant of the Year for the second time.
Tony’s journey through hospitality has seen some formidable challenges – over the past 25 years the industry has seen massive change and challenges. It has been a turbulent time which forced him to focus on what Antonio’s can do best – an attentive, highly focussed dining experience.
Amid the highs and lows, his desire to craft a legacy of innovation and quality never waned – he has sought to bequeath a transformative blueprint for the hospitality industry he cherishes. And so began Net Zero Hospitality UK.

The initiative of Net Zero Hospitality UK is Tony’s pledge to the future – a movement stemming from today’s retrospection and the hard-earned wisdom of yesteryears to foster sustainability within an industry undergoing immense change. With an ethos of environmental stewardship, this initiative strives to reduce ecological footprints, promote green operations and pave a path to an ecologically harmonious future.
With Net Zero Hospitality UK, Tony aspires to transform past mistakes into catalysts for progress, imbuing the hospitality sector with practices that secure a thriving tomorrow for businesses and their patrons. Striving to achieve 100% eco-friendly operations, Net Zero Hospitality UK embodies our undeterred vision for a cleaner, greener industry.
“We are exploring dozens of innovations to revolutionise the sector, to leave a legacy that transcends profits and focuses on the future of our planet.” Tony said. “Net Zero Hospitality UK lays the blueprint for an enlightened hospitality industry – together we can do this!”
